Platycnemis acutipennis (Orange Featherleg/Orange White-legged Damselfly)

Go to the western half of France to see this distinctive and very attractive species. The males’ combination of blue eyes and orange body is a quite distinctive and appealing combination.

Id Notes

• orange abdomen (both sexes, female maybe paler)
• ♂ – thick black markings either side of dorsal mid-line on S7-9
• ♂ – blue eyes
• ♀ – abdomen with paired, fine black lines on dorsal side of S3-8
